Your Phone is now the alternative to the USB FIDO Key

GoTrust ID is the first solution to make your Android or iPhone the alternative to a USB key for FIDO 2-step login to Google, Facebook, Dropbox, Microsoft, Salesforce, Twitter and AWS services

Irvine, California, May 9th 2019 – Today, GoTrustID Inc (GoTrust) announced that it is the first company to offer a smart phone alternative to USB FIDO Key authentication for FIDO 2-step login used by many of the most popular cloud applications including Google, Facebook, Dropbox, Microsoft, Salesforce, Twitter, AWS or GitHub accounts. A Bluetooth (BLE) connection between your phone and your computer replaces the USB FIDO Key.

The FIDO ecosystem is waiting for the market to further mature before it supports BLE authenticators; but all FIDO enabled services support the USB FIDO Security Key today. Wanting to provide an immediate FIDO login experience for smart phone users, GoTrust has enhanced its PC computer login APP ‘GoTrust ID’, which already works with BLE communications, to use your phone to simulate the USB FIDO Key, thereby replacing the USB Key with your phone. Your phone is even more secure than the conventional USB key as you can now include another authentication factor using your phone to add fingerprint or facial biometric verification, often a mandatory requirement for more mission critical and government secure sites.

The phone APP can be downloaded from App Store or Google Play and Windows APP can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store. The macOS APP will be available shortly. Acer users are ahead of the game as the GoTrust ID APP is already preloaded on all Acer computers.
